Research Interests Prof. Hui ZHOU has been engaged in deep rock mechanics and engineering disaster analysis theory, prevention and control technology, his main research interests are listed as follows:
 Development of multi-field and multi-scale test techniques and instruments for deep rock mass mechanics. As the major inventors, Profess Hui ZHOU has developed more than 20 instruments for rock mechanics tests, which have been applied by more than 10 universities and institutes.
 Deep rock mass mechanics theory and numerical analysis method.
 Multi-field coupling theory and numerical analysis method of rock mechanics.
 Analytical methods, monitoring, forecast and prevention techniques for deep engineering disasters (rock bursts, etc.).
 Dynamic feedback analysis and design optimization of large underground cavern groups
