Research Interests | Prof. Jiang’s research interest lies in geomechanics from micro to macro for problematic geomaterials (e.g., structural sands, loess, soft soils methane hydrate bearing sediments, lunar soils, soft rocks), and DEM application to geo-engineering. |

Honors Prof. Jiang is the Laureate of China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists. He has undertaken one key project, one major project, four general projects and one "973 Project" project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. One Shanghai Excellent Academic Leader Program and two European Union projects. He is the editorial board member of 5 international journals including Granular Matter, Computers and Geotechnics, and Transportation Geotechnique. He has been granted 9 patents and 41 software Copyrights. He published 2 books and about 640 journal papers and peer-reviewed conference papers, including two ESI Highly Cited Paper. He received over 2730 citations and his H index is 27 according to Web of Science Citation Reports (Science Citation Index Expanded database). In 2021, he was ranked among the top 2% of scientists in the world by Stanford University In 2020, he was named China's Highly cited Scholar of the Year 2020 by Elsevier In 2019, he was named China's Highly cited Scholar in earth and planetary Sciences by Elsevier and the speaker of Huang Wenxi's lecture In 2015, he was awarded the special government allowance of The State Council In 2014, he is the laureate of national Talent project. Social Service As a key pioneer and advocate of macro and micro soil mechanics, he facilitated the establishment of ISSMGE-TC105 Professional Committee. In 2010, he hosted the first International Symposium on Macro and micro Geomechanics and Geotechnical Technology. Since 2010, he has served as the vice chairman of TC105 Professional Committee. |
