Research Interests Soil improvement by the vacuum/surcharge preloading method; Consolidation theory of reclamation slurry; Static and cyclic behaviors of soft soils; Cyclic behaviors of wind-turbine foundation and groins; Environmental vibrations from surface, underground and elevated moving sources. Yuanqiang Cai undertook many important and large-scale engineering consulting projects relating to ground improvemnt, such as dredged slurry treatment in Oufei reclamation project at Wenzhou, Zhejiang;the consultation for the soft soil improvement for the Power Plants on the Java islands, Indonesia; the ground treatment design of the Wenzhou Airport, etc.
